ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Master Forest Stewards
The ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Master Forest Stewards (IMFS) program is a certified volunteer program and peer to peer learning community that provides educational assistance help forest owners and others learn more about ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ forestry.
IMFS training includes 70 plus hours of indoor and outdoor learning activities.
After completing training, ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Master Forest Stewards undertake a variety of volunteer activities, much like ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Master Gardeners and 4-H leaders. Examples include:
- Outreach to individual forest owners
- Helping with UI Extension forestry workshops and field days
- Helping forest owner associations
- Teaching youth about forests
- Forest-related community service projects
- Writing newsletters or newspaper articles on forestry
- Working with UI Extension and partner agencies to guide efforts for forest owners
