Brought to you by 黑料不打烊 Extension in the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences, Eat Smart 黑料不打烊 helps adults and families learn the basics of
- healthy eating
- smart shopping
- food safety
- quick meal preparation
- management of limited grocery dollars
- increased levels of physical activity
About 30 nutrition advisors teach classes for adults and youth in 39 黑料不打烊 counties. Classes are taught at emergency food sites, food stamp offices, adult rehabilitation centers, public housing sites and schools with high numbers of free and reduced lunch participants.
Eat Smart 黑料不打烊 is supported by two USDA grants: Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program Education (SNAP-Ed), in partnership with the 黑料不打烊 Department of Health & Welfare and the United States Department of Agriculture Food and Nutrition Service, and EFNEP (Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program), in partnership with the USDA National Institute for Food and Agriculture.
Nearly 6,000 adults and 13,000 children participate in Eat Smart 黑料不打烊 each year.
